About Dexter Cooper
I ran D. P. Cooper Boat Building for twenty five years, building spars from ten to ninety feet long, many of them hollow, like the spars on the Buzzards Bay 25 to the right. I delivered most spars myself with my wife coming along as navigator on many of the trips, as shown below. In 2010, I decided that I had had enough of running a business and started a new career as a bench jeweler, finding that the skills acquired over forty plus years as a woodworker transferred nicely to the repair and construction of jewelry. While working full time as a bench jeweler, I still build a few spars, model sail boats and now have the restoration of Voyager to keep me busy
